Learn about our 2021 Annual Report!

After last year's success, we are once again publishing our annual report digitally. This report documents, analyzes, and disseminates the results we obtained in a year that continued to be affected by COVID-19 ravages, highlighting the importance of reconnecting with nature.

Thanks to a committed team of staff, the Board of Directors, the Assembly, numerous committees, the support of partner institutions and organizations, and our donors, we made 157 grants in 2021, essential to achieving our strategic objectives.

In the words of our CEO, Renée González, "In the last round of the sun, our partners enabled us to move forward with 18 projects and add five new ones, which seek to renew the link between the sea and the land. The new initiatives include support for three long-term marine areas. Another recent achievement occurred in northern Mexico, where the efforts of a transnational team helped keep on the work of an admirable woman who, for 40 years, has been restoring grasslands and forests around rivers through which more water flows today. A third milestone in 2021 was the start of a major project that will make the restoration of two rivers possible and outline a national strategy so that together, government and society, we can ensure that the water that allows life to flow through the veins of Mexico's forests continues to flow. A fourth project, which also saw the light of day in 2021, unites several years of efforts by the public sector, academia, and society to promote regenerative ranching and agroforestry systems, with a view to the sustainability of agricultural activities, which occupy more than half of our country's territory. Finally, strengthening civil society organizations in the Yucatan Peninsula will accelerate the capacities that are indispensable to rescue this region so affected by climate change.”

There is still much to do. We need to redouble our efforts, but as we do every year, we reiterate our commitment to conserve Mexico's natural heritage. The efforts and work of our donors, partners, and team are signs of hope to build a better future for everyone.

Without further ado, we invite you to read our 2021 annual report.
